About RedactNinja
Three workspaces. Different jobs.
RedactNinja brings together a workspace for sensitive disclosure, a toolkit for everyday PDF work and a set of image tools for photos and screenshots. All three process the files you select in your browser.
Where it started
RedactNinja's first focus was SAR work in education: reviewing pupil records, staff references and email evidence, while keeping track of what should be disclosed. That work needs more than a PDF editor. It needs case context, review decisions and a way to continue securely later.
RedactNinja SAR
The SAR workspace brings together case setup, evidence review, redaction suggestions, manual redaction and disclosure outputs. Reviewers can download encrypted case files to continue their work. It supports people making disclosure decisions; it does not decide what a requester is entitled to receive.
RedactNinja PDF
The PDF toolkit is for document jobs that do not need a case: organising pages, editing, conversion, compression, forms and scans. It gives general users a separate starting point without the SAR setup and review workflow.
RedactNinja Image
The image tools cover the photo jobs people often hand to a website: removing a background, blurring faces, resizing, cropping, compressing and converting pictures, removing hidden location details and copying text from a screenshot. The AI models download from the same site and run on your device.
What local processing means
The workspaces read your chosen files on your device rather than uploading their contents to a processing server. You still need to protect your device, downloads and any files you share. This public website has separate advertising and analytics arrangements, explained in the privacy notice.
Limits we want users to understand
Automatic detection can miss personal information. OCR can misread text. Office conversion can change formatting or omit unsupported content. Complex and very large files may exceed a browser's available resources. Keep originals and check exported results.
A signature image is not a certificate signature, and a conversion is not a safe redaction. Our PDF tools guide explains how to choose between those tasks.
Support and feedback
Use the contact page to report a problem or suggest an improvement. Include the workspace, tool and browser, but do not send sensitive source documents or passwords. Donations help support the project and are optional.
